Moon

calm hours retreat
with the moon,
as a domed turquoise sky
silences starlight;
bodies fade-- souls awake
as time propels the dawn
from the night;
the others brush their teeth
and comb their hair.
these hands dissolve the canvas,
bind the sun
and draw the stars,
to freeze a fleeting cosmos
from the quick-drying
air--

and just as surely as the doors have betrayed you
you've become a captive..
in your 3D prison
