You're looking at the last static copy (1999) of Acheron.org, more recent but partial copies exist in the wayback machine. This site is online out of nostalgia and because of it's historic content, an up to date ANSI/ASCII art archive is available from 16colo.rs

  mighty mouse

talking with mighty mouse, the fearless hero of the.. oh, yeah.. ahem.. mighty mouse, currently with cia..

Session Start: Tue Mar 26 12:55:51 1996

*** Now talking in #m_mouse
*** M_Mouse (bdpc@fctnts07c04.nbnet.nb.ca) has joined #M_Mouse

dangermouse: woo!
M_Mouse: wowzers..

dangermouse: ok.. lay a bio on me
dangermouse: oh i dunno.. name, age, sex (yes/no!? :>), live, hobbies.. that kinda shit
M_Mouse: name: brian age: 18 sex: whenever possible hobbies: art, computers, sports, air cadets (yehaw for the military)..
dangermouse: woo to the milt too.. umm.. so how long have you been in the scene?
M_Mouse: hrmm.. it's been like.. 2 years or so.. wow.. :)
dangermouse: yeah the 2 year mark will be creaping up on me come nov.. phew
M_Mouse: cool :)

dangermouse: so, what do you actually do? ansi, other shit (for those that dont know) -- and what groups are you in?
M_Mouse: i do: ansi (ansi/2), ascii, rip, vga, and code and i'm in cia (yep, that's it) ..
dangermouse: my god! one group! are you mad man! hhee
M_Mouse: oh, and web stuff if that counts :)
M_Mouse: (it does on the cia mem list :)
dangermouse: web counts
dangermouse: how did you actually get into the scene? who were your 'inspirations'?
M_Mouse: yeah.. sorry for all those pro-dualers :).. i'm not gonna do it.. i'm a senior in cia and dualing might look bad altough i've already done it before *snicker*..

M_Mouse: umm, about 2 years ago, i was running a board, i decided to draw fonts in ascii for it. i had some artpacks i got from god-knows-where so i knew about the chans on irc.. then i got irc access and looked around for #ansi and stuff...and things just sorta evolved.. i didn't really have 1 single inspiration.. i really wanted a well rounded style.

dangermouse: ahh.. an interesting story.. mine was just sorta the same actually - i drew a few fonts for incubus (rGt's old board) and yeah.. it sprouted from there
M_Mouse: yeah.. it's not totally interesting.. but it's kinda fun to remember "way back when" :)
dangermouse: ahha yeah

dangermouse: i know your good at web design (like me eh!? :>), just from looking at your pages ie. yours, and genfab.. how do design them? just from mind to code? or
M_Mouse: pretty much outta my head.. i just load up note pad and photoshop and go at it. I can usually come up with interesting ideas. The genfab pages however will require alot of planing, cause of the cgi involved, but otherwise the ideas for the layouts are outta my head..
dangermouse: yeah i find, from doing design at uni within my multimedia degree, that planning a webpage on paper first can iron out a lot of problems, especially tables and layout issues..
M_Mouse: yep, but i always like to experiment in a practical manner..
dangermouse: hhaa. yeah i that too from time to time

dangermouse: just getting back to your art, who do you 'look up to' or admire the most within the scene?
dangermouse: even current influences
M_Mouse: well, napalm, cia's fearless leader is one of my biggest influences as well as filth, cia's faithfull kick-ass ansi/rip artist.
dangermouse: yeah, filth is a damn good artist, his use of color is outstanding, even in b&w images :)
M_Mouse: fer sure..

dangermouse: what do you think of the current scene as a whole? do you see the influx of the european scene as a good or a bad thing (obvious answer here)
dangermouse: influx of artists from the euro scene i meant
dangermouse: ?
M_Mouse: not much of an ansi scene gonna be left in the near future. I dig euro's :).. "the more the merrier." :)

dangermouse: yeah.. the european scene, i feel, has breathed new life into the ansi scene
dangermouse: im lagged to f**kery
dangermouse: yeah ansi is a dying art form tho.. the web has changed the scene dramatically, or even gone past it - the scene needs to catch up - ACiD's packs exemplify this notion

*** M_Mouse has quit IRC (bdpc@unb.ca - 1996)

Session Close: Tue Mar 26 13:55:39 1996
