Ok first what's your name, age, and when did you get started
in the ansi/ascii scene.
The
4th disciple:
hmm... well my name's Nav, I'm 21 and I've been in the scene
since Dark first released their pack in February of 1994.
Gr8beat:
Dark, are they still alive?
The
4th disciple:
of course, the scene remains ignorant of the group. The
oldschoolers who actually know shit, still know of Dark's
existence while newbie little shits don't bother learning
about the scene or it's history including the groups that
remain. They only see Legend, Twilight, Legion, Avenge,
etc.. not to take anything away from those groups or anything.
Gr8beat:
Tell me about Dark then
The
4th disciple:
well, the group started releasing art in 94, and has continued
to do so for 4 years now. It's really the only group in
the scene that I could see myself in
Gr8beat:
you have been in acid and ice right?
The
4th disciple:
well I was in ACiD for all of 2 days and I was in iCE for
about a week. ACiD was cool, radman was really cool about
everything but it just wasn't the place for me. As for iCE,
iCE kinda took a long time to accept me and even then I
wasn't really given any iCE member privelages... shrug...
Aphid Twix, Magnetic M and Syntax Error were really cool
guys.. though Syntax doesn't remember me being in the group...
heh.. but that's ok I guess.. he's still aight.

I see,any other groups?

I think I've been in most of the groups that mattered...
Twilight, Fuel, Awe, Toon (like it or not, this group layed
the foundation for most of the newer groups), Saga, Decades,
etc... never been in Fire though.. Hals a really cool guy..
CiA is another group that seems like fun

heh.. well within the 416/905 area code there are many scene
related people, and over the years some of us have become
friends, and we get together every now and then to just
chill

exactly cause our a/c fuckin' owns, we even own Nmancer
and his little puny excuse of an a/c :) (hahaha Mark hahaha)

I know that a lot of groups have sought you out so that
you could be staff for them because of your reputation

yes, your name attracts members, you can get people to join
a group and you can make a group run good

hahahahaha.. oh gawd.. hahaha.. I don't see that as being
the case at all. I mean I know that I can run a group and
I know I'm damned good at it. But I also know that I have
to keep control over my life and this loss of control often
gets in the way and when it gets in the way I have to depart
the scene or the group but I don't really think I can 'attract'
or get people to join a group it's up to them..

yes I was

why did you leave?

I wanted to be in Dark again

no, I left on good terms. Deeply is a great guy, he understood..
much respect to that guy

I've always thought that, that's why you took so long at
getting known

shrug, fuck I don't konw, I am very much influenced by Desalvo,
Xypher Matryx, Aphex Twin, Dieznyik/Nootropic. I draw what's
in my mind since I don't buy comics

Dark and I have seen you fight/defend the group lots of

.. well as a member of Dark and as a meet regular (sort
of) I have made friends in the group, and I will always
stick up for anyone in the group that needs it. Axiom has
always made it his point to second guess the membership
of one of our younger people. note: Axioms' comments mean
jack shit to me unless he tells them to me face to face

anyway, I was sticking up for the member because nobody
else would, and then Spear came in telling me how I was
kissing ass or something.. I don't really remember the exact
words.. but that's the jist of it and then he left Dark
saying that all we do is kiss ass

all I gotta say to him is that I wish that he'd taken time
to realize what the full situation was and that I know he
says he's changed.. I got no beef with him, fuck it's only

'observer'.. seeing what's going on.. and learning from
it

ok, who are the people that got you to where you are today
in the scene?

4th disciple:
... xypher matryx and carnifex.. they get most of the credit.
Those 2 were the ultimate in staffdom... people like Oxygene,
Prison Breaker, Asoap, The Night Angel (TNA woop!), etc..
taught me other things which also remain key in who I am..
there are more.. everyone in Dark has influenced me in one
way or another.. same as everyone in #dark
